Two Clocks, One Student
Why teachers ask for a sound the bow cannot give.
Around 1800, violin, bow and teaching answered the same question. Then teaching and bow making each split sound from the rest of the problem, and corrected themselves a century apart. Today’s students still pay for the gap.
